The University of Kent has risen in the university ranking league table to 34th.
The Canterbury based university has jumped four places in the 2012 Complete University Guide. The Guide, which was published at the end of April also shows the university got a top 10 ranking in three different subject areas.
In total 82 per cent of the university's subjects appeared in the top 30. The Guide is a comparison of Universities and uses a large criteria to evaluate campuses. Study based qualities like academic quality and strength of research are ranked as well as more lifestyle choices like student satisfaction.
Its full league table can be viewed here: www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk.
A statement from Professor Dame Julia M Goodfellow, Vice-Chancellor of the University, showed joy at the latest increase in the ranking. She said: “The 2012 Guide has firmly positioned Kent among the leading research universities in the UK.”
She went on to credit the region saying it “emphasises our values of high-quality teaching and learning, internationally rated research, enterprise and community engagement.”
The guide for new students acts as a useful tool when deciding on their future, particularly signifying which universities would suit their needs.
